1/8" birch ply

I love free time....here is a project that is on 12"x12"x1/8" birch ply that took 12hrs. 55ipm/255/0 - the photos show the 4w laser can easily make a 3d engraving....okay, so not as deep as a cnc, but it works for my purposes.... ;) Just completed: 20160630_112309.jpg Cleaned with nyl...

Re: Celtic Watcher

Hi Jeff, yes it cut into it. I tried to get a different angle to show it. I've successfully done about a dozen projects and gotten relief surfaces.

Celtic Watcher

Finally got some "Me Time" with the Emblaser 4w and made this 5"x5" Celtic Greenman on birch ply. 60ipm, .006, 255/0. Has a nice 3D look & feel. Now, on to a 12x12. :D

Re: Chipboard - plain and painted

I agree, the brown is better. I LOVE the mansion picture! I'm doing a set of Halloween decorations for a guy and THAT would fit nicely.

Chipboard - plain and painted

I decided to see what would happen if I spray painted the chipboard I've been playing around with. This is the same silhouette, one plain and one with a light coating of white and then red spray. The painted board does kick up more soot which adds different aspect to the picture. 150 ipm, 255 max. ....

Re: Vector vs Raster

VFR? I'm still learning all the ins and outs of the program and I guess its about time to read the tutorial now that I have some practice time finished. The more I play with this, the more I like it!

Vector vs Raster

Playing with the Emblaser, I put the same photo to the test - Cut2D vs PEP5. Both on birch. Settings were basically the same with one pass for the Cut2D. Notice the uneven cross hatch of the vector on the top corners (left and right are different density) and lack of detail on the body. While the en...
