Re: Lines on engraving - HELP!!

I changed it to 3 and viola no lines. Now to tweak the resolution and feed rate. I went with .008 and a FR of 90 and it was a bit too dark. I bumped it up a little while it was running and it improved somewhat. I'll keep plugging along here.

Thanks for all your help!!!

Re: Lines on engraving - HELP!!

The depth range is staying within the specified limits. The Step & Dir wasn't set to 3 it was on 5. so that might be it... can't remember why I changed it from 3. DOH! Could it be that simple?

Re: Lines on engraving - HELP!!

Im using a J-Tech laser. Its set at 1.5W and it has the high power adjustable lens. The high is at 3" to the bottom of the heat sink (was unsure about where to exactly set this). I made a 3" Z block to help set up it easier. Ive tried burns at 2W without much change in the image quality. T...

Actually the picture is better in person, this shot is a little washed out.

Re: Mach3 PEP5 settings

Well it appears that my BoB was messed up. Spoke with Jay at J-Tech and we went through a detailed troubleshooting session and really didn't come up with a definitive answer. So I ordered a new BoB and Jay sent me a new DAC. Got the Bob and DAC on the same day. So I installed the new BoB and after m...

Re: Mach3 PEP5 settings

I have it wired and set up Exactly like you indicated to do. New wires and a dedicated ground wire as well. When i power on the DAC, I jog up the A and zero it. Then toggle on the Laser with M3 (F5) and jog the A up and down, am I supposed to be seeing some kind of modulation in the voltage here? Be...
