Thanks Jeff, as it turns out, the editor for the shoot liked the black background better than the one I did after I switched files. Great software!

Transparent backgrounds

Just wondering if anyone knows about transparent backgrounds with PicEngrave Pro 5. Last night I was working on a transparent .png file and saved it. the background was saved as black in the .jpg file and even the png was brought into the program with a black background. Do photos need to be cleaned...

Dither, no dither

I did a test of dithering/not dithering the same photo which is below. The top photo is dithered at 60 in/m on birch ply 225/10. The second looks yellow due to the light but and was don at 80 in/mm 255/10. The last photo is not dithered and not cleaned up because the black looks better for this part...

New board for hanging keys

Just swapped out the 3w laser for the 4w on the Emblaser A3 and gave it a test run. Feed rate 65, px .006, 225 max, 10 min 7hr run time on bamboo 8.5"x11". Now my brother's kids will have a place for their keys they're always misplacing after I put the hooks on. Need better lighting to tak...
