Feedrate limitation problem

Postby woodjunkie4evr » Mon Nov 07, 2016 10:59 am

Hello to all

I have been using pep 5 for a while now and have just recently come across a problem that for some reason I just can't figure out.
Hope somebody can help me.
Problem is all g code files created by pep5 will not run
Faster than 90 in/per. The file shows the correct feedrate
Code. say F110. But the machine maxes out at 90.
Feedrate override does nothing either.
I use mach3 threw a smoothstepper and jtech dac board
To run my laser. All is functional but with this one problem.

Can anyone help. Please.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Chris,

The only thing that I can think of that will slow the blended feedrate is the acceleration settings in Motor Tuning for the axis's. Try increasing them and see if it improves.

Hi Jeff. Thanks for your response.
I will try that for sure.
However still wondering why this only occurs with code files generated with pep5?

Thanks again.

Hi Chris,

Raster gcode files generated with PEP5 are very short incremental moves, so the accelerations need to be set as high as possible (without loosing any steps) so there is no dwelling during each move which limits the feedrates.
