I do not mean it like that. I thought if you could upload an image that you have prepared in PEP6 so I'll see how you've edited before taking out the gcoden for the laser engraving

Hi.

Now I have changed the motion board to a UC300 ethernet and test drive with a nubm44 laser powered by a blackBuck 8M laser driver. The driver gets 6vdc and the x-y-z acceleration is 1000. Engeaving speed 2000. Now I do not have so much trouble with stripes anymore but it burns way too dark.

With the 6W nubm44, I laser engrave photos at 5080mm/min on Birch Ply, or Poplar. At a 2000mm/min it will burn too dark. It looks like your testing on MDF. It will burn easier/darker than natural wood. You may need to back off the max setting or driver max amps (if adjustable) and use a B&W dithered image instead of trying to laser engrave grayscale.

I recommend you use a 3" (76.2mm) focal height. Focusing info can be found on Page 22 in our Laser Setup Instructions.

Updated the uc300 card and reinstalled mach3. I made my own test picture with a white box at the end to see if the dac has lost stepps. Feed 5000, acc 750 and can engrave at 6500 mm / min max. 8.5vdc / 2.4A gets the laser. I'll try more this week for the optimal settings.

Looks like your gaining on it.

Acceleration X-Y=1175/A=1115, us=0-0, laser power=11.8 vdc/3a, laser spoot=0.19, FRC on 50%, start burn scale=170, horizontal engrave.

Have you tried laser engraving any photos again?

not yet .... My nubm44 laser stopped working .... I have ordered a more expensive 2.5W laser from China tested and of industry quality and a digital power / volt panel to be able to set max power / volt on output . Things should come a week. I start to think that most usb / ethernet motion boards pass over the position, therefore, the DAC power drops the positions. I'm thinking about quitting using DAC and building with an encoder instead. do you connect the encoder's A port to the pwm input directly on the laser?

We have been testing UCCNC with PicEngrave generated code. It does not require a DAC, or encoder. It outputs PWM on a set pin and varies the laser's modulation with M10 Qxxx commands. It will work with your UC300.
