Dither, no dither

Postby Edmcgarr » Sat May 07, 2016 10:34 am

I did a test of dithering/not dithering the same photo which is below. The top photo is dithered at 60 in/m on birch ply 225/10. The second looks yellow due to the light but and was don at 80 in/mm 255/10. The last photo is not dithered and not cleaned up because the black looks better for this particular board. All on the Emblaser 4w. I love this software!

John, I can't say enough about this software. The guy I bought my Emblaser from only used a vector program and went out and spent $10k on a unit that only accepts .eps files. When I aw him and showed him the quality of the engraving he looked at me and said he can't duplicate it on his machine without a ton of effort. He went on to say that had he gotten the PicEngrave Pro 5 software, he never would have sold the unit. Kudos to a job well done, sir!

Ed,
Thank you so much for your kind words. Much of the credit for our software should go to Jeff, who has spent countless hours testing and suggesting improvements. He and his son invented the type of engraving many now enjoy doing with low power laser diodes.

All the best to you,
John

Thanks John,

I must say, it was of us all working together as a team. :thinking)
