Chipboard - plain and painted

Postby Edmcgarr » Tue May 31, 2016 11:00 am

I decided to see what would happen if I spray painted the chipboard I've been playing around with. This is the same silhouette, one plain and one with a light coating of white and then red spray. The painted board does kick up more soot which adds different aspect to the picture. 150 ipm, 255 max. .0125 px 8x10 24#.

Also, the chipboard adds some white to pictures depending on the speed of the feed rate. It seems to show up with faster speeds. Works nice for cobwebs.....if you're into this stuff:

Very impressive results Ed. :respect)

I have experimented with laser engraving white paint on aluminum in the past with very good results. The best paint I found to get the best results sells at Family Dollar for $1 a rattle can. The brand is Red Devil.

I purchased some 8X10 .08" Brown Chipboard off Amazon and Thunderbolt shipped Brown/Gray by mistake. It laser engraves OK, but not as good as the Brown IMO.

I agree, the brown is better. I LOVE the mansion picture! I'm doing a set of Halloween decorations for a guy and THAT would fit nicely.
