Sorry when i posted that it whent all the way to the bottom of the 5th page i was referring to the tall sailing ship engraved on the mirror very well done hoping to get similar results on a photo of the uss leyte for a a client

Sadly, he is no longer with us to ask how he added the border. I think it should be possible using either Gimp or Inkscape image editors.

I have another question it says that the photo was ditherd the photo of the tall ship to 1 bit b/w
did you switch from analog/pwm to dot laser or just run from analog/pwm ???

OK, I'm not absolutely sure how Jeff engraved it, but I assume he just used the Analog/PWM code. The Dot Pix Laser option was added to PEP after the image was engraved, and while it is similar to engraving with a half-tone method, it is not exactly the same. It has features to dwell the burning of pixels to simulate a half-tone process.
