Now I have adjusted the laser driver and it works better.

However, I have problems with piengeave. When I use 3D laser / 45 degree diagonal the machine dwall in the corners?

Are you using the Extended Edge so the laser turns off and runs past the engraving edge before it reverses directions?

Reinstalled picengrave so now it works, seems like the profiles were not loaded as they should. There were strange engravings with uccnc and pic engrave. Uccnc's own engraving program was tricky and adjustable, felt stiff. Now run the UC300, mach3 with picconvert and work just as well. Engraved my sisters son 200x200 and my son 830x1050. I will rebuild the machine once more, am not really satisfied with the result yet. I am building my own rotary pwm encoder, the circuit is 12 bits, I will turn a house to it with a ball bearing shaft, hoping to test soon.

It looks like your making some major progress. :respect)

We just set up a 3040 Parallel Port CNC machines like this one and controlling it with an Arduino UNO R3 flashed with the MultiMode 1.0c grbl firmware.

We did not have to modify/change anything in the controller box at all. We did have to change pin numbers around from a DB25 Arduino Shield to the controller with a DB25 Jumper box. We have a DB25 Y splitter cable coming from the Jumper box to a DB25 screw terminal breakout board for connecting the PWM output to the laser driver. We have it running with a WinXP Pro, Pentium 4 3.0Ghz processor, 2Gb of ram PC and the PicEngrave gcode files are being streamed to grbl with our PicSender program. Can't get much simpler than that and It all works perfectly.

Here was our first try on Birch Ply with our J-Tech 2.8W laser.

The PEP6 Analog/PWM settings were:
Engraving Angle: Left 45D
Feedrate: 90IPM.
Pixel Resolution: .007"
Max. 3rd Axis Depth: 255
Min. 3rd Axis Depth: 5
Feed Rate Change: 25%
Extended Edge: 20 Width in Pixels at 73 IPM

woooow that was fine! Congratulations!

I intend to try arduino, but first make it work with mack3 as I want everything on the same control system.

Today my machine can handle 1800x1300 mm and the one I carry on and designs can handle 1500x3000 and also want it as an engraving surface. The new machine I will start to build this year. It will have 6 shafts and three movable. the whole machine is modular.

Have recently constructed a new modular electrical cabinet that I will be testing this week.

It feels good that it starts to work.

I am working on rebuilding the entire machine for now. The new system will have arduino, mach3, mach4, uccnc and everything will be able to run through pic convert if i want. want to be able to experiment. The new controlled pwm rotation recorder will soon be fully developed and will be integrated into the rest of the system. The entire system is completely modular.
