Tim,
Change your setting to match the settings shown below. You must use only positive integer numbers for Max and Min depths for the laser S commands, and the 3rd Axis letter must be an S, not a Z.

For a test, these setting will get you started, but you will also probably see better results by reducing the Pixel Resolution to the width (or slightly larger) that your laser burns at focus. This is typically between 0.006" and 0.007" inches for most laser diodes when sharply focused. Also, for most images, engraving with a 45 degree angle gives better results because it minimizes the "white" distance between scan lines.

Also, please note, that if you want to later add a laser burned border around the edge of the image and select Laser Edge, the Laser Edge Power Command setting must be S255, not $255 (use a Capital S, not the dollar sign $).
